Why SmartLiving Workshops?
In the SmartLiving series of workshops the focus is on using your head to maximize your personal growth and emotional development in whatever area of your life you choose. Look at it this way. Say you enjoy playing the piano or tennis. In fact you enjoy it so much, you decide to become more proficient at it than your current skill set allows. Becoming more proficient at the piano or tennis usually means taking on a teacher, learning new skills and committing yourself to practicing and applying those skills until they become second nature.
This example reflects my view of personal growth and human development. Say, for example, you are in a relationship and you have noticed the two of you drifting apart. You want to get closer to this person, but don’t understand what is holding you back or how to overcome it. This can be due to past emotional hurts, an emotionally inadequate childhood environment, a simple lack of prior experience or any number of other things. Very often we feel ashamed or somehow bad about ourselves as a result of these very real personal limitations.
To me, there is nothing to feel bad about. You have very simply gone as far as your current skill set will allow. You’ve come to the end of what you already know. What’s needed at this point is not self-recrimination, but an expanded skill set. As you learn new skills and practice them, you can learn to become more proficient at getting close.
This is not magical or wishful thinking. It’s a sober determination of what works for you and what doesn’t. Working in conjunction with a mentor, you can learn how to maximize the former while making a constructive series of adjustments to the latter.
The theme that characterizes this series of workshops is that there is nothing wrong with you just as you are. Should, however, you choose to learn to become more creative, more spontaneous, happier, more optimistic or even luckier, both the tools and the teacher are available to do so.
Why endure whatever it is that’s holding you back from being happier and healthier when the help you need is only a phone call away? Call (845) 339-6250 or e-mail bill@i4hd.com today to sign up and start living smart.
